G-CALM: MY NEW MORNING DRINK BEYOND THE WARM LEMON WATER

G-CALM: MY NEW MORNING DRINK BEYOND THE WARM LEMON WATER | Supporting gut health, digestion, and natural wellness.

\"Lemon

First off, I’m so grateful that God gave the perfect man as a husband for me. I had to say that, because without him, I could not have his cutely named G-CALM drink. You’ve probably already heard, and maybe are already doing warm lemon water in the morning.

Why is this recommended? Lemon has alkalizing properties in our body, meaning less acidity, and an acidic body is not desirable, as it can promote illness. Lemon is also supposed to help the gut by aiding in digestion. It has helps provide electrolytes and vitamin c, therefore, yes it can me immune boosting. Warm vs Cold? Warm water can help extract more properties of the lemon, and it also helps digestively. Cold water makes the body work harder and also will not be the ideal environment to get all the lemon benefits.

So, my amazing husband, who also is a physical therapist, decided to combine a few other ingredients that he knew were good and healthy. Let me share how G-CALM was made. Think Master-Cleanse meets more ingredients.

Ginger: great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant

Cayenne: active ingredient is called capsaicin, this can boost metabolism, source of the antioxidant Vitamin A, may reduce cancer risk, as well as help relieve pain, and lower blood pressure

Apple Cider Vinegar: antioxidant, alkalizing, antimicrobial & antifungal, helps with gut bacteria balance, may help with weight loss

Lemon: antioxidant, source of electrolytes, may help with weight loss

Maple Syrup: high in zinc and manganese, also high in sugar, but used in moderation helps remove the tartness of the drink, used in the Master Cleanse drink, does provide calories

Added but not in the name:

Turmeric: may improve brain function, lower risk of heart disease, decrease cancer cells, help in Alzheimer\’s, help improve depression

G-CALM has became a great addition to our daily practice. The taste at first wasn’t my favorite, but after a few times, I now crave it in the morning, and enjoy it.

How to make it:

  1. Gather ingredients, have a blender available

  2. We use the small mason jars 8 oz, making 3-4 days worth at time for both of us

  3. Line up jars, have lids available

  4. 1 lemon squeezed

Side note/tip: we have may people with lemon trees around us, we squeeze them into ice cube trays if they are at risk of going bad, and use 2 cubes per drink

5. 1T of Apple cider vinegar

6. 1tsp of Maple Syrup

7. Sprinkle cayenne, turmeric, and black pepper, which helps the absorption

8. Grate/peel cut ginger, add to blender with enough water for all your mason jars

9. Put lid let sit out or put in fridge, and store there until ready to serve

Note: we usually have been drinking them cold, but occasionally I will pour my drink into a mug, and add warm water, it does get more diluted but that is ok.
