The Hidden Powerhouse Within
Your gut is more than just a digestive organ. It\’s home to a vast community of microorganisms known as the gut microbiome. These tiny organisms play a crucial role in your overall health and well-being.

What is the gut microbiome?
Think of the gut microbiome as a complex ecosystem. It\’s made up of trillions of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microorganisms. These organisms live in harmony, performing essential functions like:

  • Digestion: Helping to break down food and absorb nutrients.

  • Immunity: Protecting against harmful pathogens.

  • Mood: Influencing mental health and well-being.

  • Weight management: Playing a role in metabolism and appetite regulation.

Why is it important to know your gut microbiome?
Understanding your gut microbiome can provide valuable insights into your health. By analyzing the composition of your gut bacteria, we can:

  • Identify imbalances: Detect potential issues that may be contributing to health problems.

  • Tailor treatments: Develop personalized strategies to improve your gut health.

  • Prevent diseases: Proactively address risk factors for certain conditions.

PS. A few tips when collecting a stool sample

  1. Read instructions 3x, several days or week/s prior to collection. Generally I will have told you to be off probiotics/antibiotics/Biocidin/Berberine/etc for 2-4 weeks prior. No enzymes/castor oil/charcoal for 2-3 days prior.

  2. Have a small plastic trash bag to put the stool collection tray and glove in, after you’ve collected so its not sitting in your garage all week

  3. Label the tubes if possible just before you collect that way you don’t have to handle the poop tubes lol, but you have a glove so if not its ok.

  4. You can drop off at a Fed Ex or call for them to pick up, which a number is provided in the kit.

  5. If you have multiple bathrooms in your home, I like to choose the one with good ventilation, a window perhaps.
