Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions

  • How are visits done?

All visits are virtual and done insideCharm, our patient portal, using Zoom. If requested, after your first visit, telephone can be used instead. All 15 min appt will be done via phone.

  • Does my insurance cover it?

Unfortunately no, not exactly. We can give you a “superbill” (basically a receipt with medical procedure codes and diagnosis) that you can submit to your PPO for possible reimbursement. If you have an HMO, they want to keep you within a certain group of providers and ND’s are not part of that special club, yet…not sure if we want to play the insurance game anyway though.

If you have an HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Savings Account), you can use your card at our office.

  • Who is your typical patient?

Women age 35-60 with hormonal imbalance. However, I do see men and children. Women are just more likely statistically anyway to get help, and they’ve got hormones! Truly, I say that I’m trained as a Primary Care to use Natural Remedies 1st and drugs as a last resort. I enjoy working as such, with a variety of complaints.

  • What will happen when you become a New Patient?

Once you schedule a New Patient visit, we will send you an email so that you can log into to Charm PHR (Patient Health Record). Charm is where you will find your secure online health questionnaire.

This is very thorough and can take 30-60 minutes depending on your health and past history.

Good news is that you can work in smaller time blocks, save and submit when ready. We do require that this is completed prior to your appointment so we can prepare before your office visit time.

Your actual visit will be approximately 1 hour, this time will allow for further information to be given, labs to be ordered, and an initial treatment plan on your top 1-2 health concerns.

  • What does a treatment plan look like?

The foundation of natural medicine is diet and lifestyle. Building on to that is targeted supplements addressing your health complaints or helping restore what is found as deficient in blood work. Homeopathy maybe a part of your plan as well, this is a German medicine that is over 200 years old. The restoration of hormone balancing, can be done with either botanical medicine, or Bio-Identical hormones. Lastly vitamins maybe delivered via I.M (intramuscular) injections as a B vitamin shot or a Myer’s cocktail which is an I.V. (intravenous).
